BC3 Collective Brings Film & Storytelling to Life at Ebony J Media Learning Center

On June 21, 2025, the Ebony J Media Learning Center welcomed the BC3 Collective for a powerful and educational film event centered around storytelling, production, and Black excellence in media. Held at our state-of-the-art facility in Cincinnati, this event gave youth and aspiring creators a behind-the-scenes look at how real media production works.
The afternoon featured a live interview between BC3 Founder Vernard Fields and Ms. Ebony J, Cincinnati’s Queen of Media. In a heartfelt sit-down, Ms. Ebony J shared her inspiring journey from radio personality to founder of a growing media hub empowering youth through digital storytelling, podcasting, and DJ training.
The energy in the room was electric as students introduced themselves, shared their goals, and discussed their media aspirations. The film crew, led by filmmaker and actor John Colman, set a professional tone with high-end equipment and expert coordination. Students were in awe of the quality and speed of the production, gaining firsthand insight into what it takes to create meaningful visual content.
“It wasn’t what I expected—but I’m so glad it happened. My students were able to learn so much about film and see the magic of media in motion,” said Ms. Ebony J.
