Before joining Ebony J Media Learning Center, I didn’t know it was possible to build a real career doing what I love—music. Like many young creatives, I thought my only options were multiple minimum wage jobs or a typical 9-to-5. But Ebony J Media changed my perspective and gave me the tools to succeed in a nontraditional way.
Through the Spring and Summer training programs, I gained hands-on experience in branding, music promotion, public speaking, and networking. I learned that real success isn’t just about posting content online—it’s about building a brand with strategy and intention.
The opportunity to work directly with industry professionals was a game-changer. I learned mixing and engineering techniques in real studios—including one owned by a producer who’s worked with artists like Moneybagg Yo and Ice Cube. Through the Media Coin Academy, I also developed a stronger understanding of how to launch and grow a creative business.
What made this experience so impactful was not just the skills, but the community and mentorship. Ms. Ebony and the team truly care about our growth. From studio sessions to field trips to places like 101.1 The Wiz and the Black Music Walk of Fame, every day was filled with inspiration.
